That's because the RCWS is still in troop trials. Moreover, the vehicle (WOLF FÜFU) it will replace wasn't armed either.

1.) Are there any numbers on how many of the MG4's have been introduced?
2.) How often does a Wolf break down(Besser gefragt: wie zuverlässig sind die Dinger?)?

The Wolf with the MG4-gunner seems to have its hood opened, but I guess it's only for cooling purposes.

1.) 2,000 of them have been introduced so far, more batches will be fielded between 2010 and 2014
2.) How realiable could a vehicle meant for the use in Central Europe possibly be in Afghanistans rugged terrain?

No, they aren't.

Most of them are TacGear "Coolmax" combat shirts with a body made from 100% polyester, which makes them dangerous to wear in an area where IEDs are a constant threat. Even tolerating the wear of clothing made from polyester is negligent, to say the least ...
