For some reason, I love the stock look of my rifle. Gave it a paint job on the main receiver to blacken out the trades and give it more of a flat look.

Just few things felix:
- paint the new sh_it up with the rest - if you bother camouflaging your weapon at least do it on the whole, otherwise its somewhat pointless
- just spray it all lightly with some flat Krylon that paintjob is damn shiny, at least on your photo the camera flash reflects. Umpossible!
- I'd use some contrasting flat brown or OG to break the gun contour vertically - paintjob looks half done, with only pale base coating painted
- Get some other-than-black sling for that matter, or just paint it. Carrying a well-camoed gun on a perfectly black sling is, well... self-defeating?
I find it looks awesome with the acog, the AN/PEQ and the silencer left unpainted. The paint might be useless while those remain black but at least it looks good.
Ah, ok I see. One can hardly object that point of view.
First: Im not gonna spray the silencer or the anpeq box. The acog will get some paint soon. Im copying a rifle that i saw a green beret with with some minor adjustments.Originally Posted by Catch22
Second and third: I use bowflage, not krylon. The color is not glossy at all its matt. And the way we paint our guns here in norway, is that we dont spend 2 hours doing it. The paintjob was done in one minute. I like it when the paint looks just dashed on with no schemes or patterns. It looks more authentic than all those uber detailed airbrushed things.
Fourth: No i wont get another sling, this is the color of that particulear sling in use. Look at pics in iraq mate most of them have black slings.
Other than that, Thanks for your comments![]()

Ok, although the whole idea of "copying" is somewhat strange to me I see the point. Tools, guns among them should suit the user practical needs first place. But I understand.Originally Posted by fE|iX
Fully agreed, we do the same thing here, no stencils, just quick but reasonable spraying. Same with painting the Real Steel. Thing I mentioned is the visible gloss on your photo - on forward assist, on 203 etc. Other remark was about the colours - but just get something matching your environment.Second and third: I use bowflage, not krylon. So I pity them for the reasons mentioned above. I'm a user not watcher of others rifles. If they were'nt bothered to get colour/paint their slings - it's their problem not mine. Anyway - if you're using something, and are not forced to use things issued, use the best you can get.Fourth: No i wont get another sling, this is the color of that particulear sling in use. But of course, do as you please.
nobody on here happens to know where i can pick up a G3sg1 Bipod do ya?
