Could you provide a picture example of your idea???

Since we're on the topic of painted guns, I recently painted my Shoei MG42 in Duracoat Parker Gray to make it more like an MG3, as it's supposed to be. I also painted the wooden stock black.

It looks very clean, as the paint job is only a few days old, but after a few skirmishes/events it should look more used:

Old pic of tan with brown. I don't have a pic of this scheme with green though:

Epic paintjob. I like the crane stock, too.

Fawk brown, I'm probably just going to go with tan / green to be a little bit different

It would look nicer with the original flash hider. The A&K and most of the other airsoft copies of the M249 use a flash hider which already incorporates part of the barrel. Hence, by removing the flash hider of the M249 Para, you also remove part of the barrel.

Guarder makes an M249 flash hider with detachable barrel extension, but this as well is incorrect. The real flash hider of the real M249 Para has a shroud that covers part of the barrel. The M249 barrel old or new has the same length, the threaded part of the flash hider is way inside and not at the very end.

So far, keeping the original flash hider gives you the most realistic looking M249. Anything shorter is a sure giveaway that it's airsoft.

Ya go for it. I painted my M4 like that for desert terrain, green with yours would blend in for your current AO.

Just what im useing now. Systema PTW Mil/LE, gold cylinder, Troy battle rear sights, Tango Down mini VFG, Daniel Defense Omega7 rail, and some hand made 550 cord sling that replaced my Spec OPs Mamba(didnt like it).

Hey Kap are you running a longet inner barrel with the mock silencer or is that just for looks?

It's a tracer unit, so therefore I don't run a longer inner barrel.
