I bought this on holiday in the US in 2001, they were still illegal in Norway back then. They changed it around that time anyway.

So i had it, and it worked nice for a good while, was lots of fun to shoot.
Then one day something snaps, and the hammer starts jamming so that the thing wont fire often. I opened it up, and atempted to fix it, but as you see:

I never did get it back together again

No i've looked into the Norwegian gun laws, airsoft was illegal untill 2000 or 2001. Atlest it wasn't legal to sell.

I take it you're spraying them in some way - one base layer with other layers built on top (using leaves etc. to break up the colour)?
You got it - it's just a layering technique - pretty easy to do and simple enough. Always remember to start with the lightest color and work to dark. No I don't use stencils, I go and find leaves or pine branches and use them instead. A bunch of twigs in a flat bundle make a really cool tiger stripe pattern too. The closer the object to the gun when you spray it the sharper the detail - some opt to go for a more diffused look. Funny thing about that Tan M4 I have, there were some pictures of a game we played where we were all in 3 color and such and one guy remarked how I wasn't holding a rifle/gun in the group picture - told him "look harder...". Becarful where you put your gun down - you might loose it! It's happened before...funny stuff until it happens to you.

For paint I use basic Krylon Camo spray paint can colors - the TAN is great, the OD is a little dark, and the Brown is very dark. I also used a few Testors and Tamiya spray paint cans, then covered the whole job in a coat of clear coat MATTE (Flat).

I find painting your gun is a nice touch since with Airsoft the ranges are really really short, so the more camo you have the better, right? I've been fortunate enough to have a 'gun for every season', but you can put well over 4 coats of krylon on an AEG before you even notice the slightest difference. This way you can add more tan/brown for spring and more light/dark green for summer - depending on your environement.

To take the paint off is simple - use on of those Karacher high pressure car washers and blow the paint right off, wipes the sheet clean for you to start over. You can ever return it to black at that point.

You certainly don't have to mention anything about the LCF with regards to painted guns...hehehehe...

    Hope that helps.

All of these guns look badass. Since Spring is approaching I'm seriously thinking about getting into airsoft and finding a community around my area. Any guides for starters out their and any tips for a newcomer? I'm aware of some of the rules like FPS and safety protocol.

I have some mates who do Airsoft, and i'd like to start up myself.
I think we have an old Norwegian Home Guard uniform bought surpluss lying around, and i might build it around that.

I'd get a Glcok 17 and a HKG3, anyone know what brands are good and reliable?

I might invest in that Glock just for fun. Nice little thing to have lying around. And it's the cheap way to start airsofting, Pistol, holster, uniform and officer rank.

What's the build quality of the GR16A2 like? I've been struggling to decide between G&G's version of the M16A3 and G&P's version...
