The process had begun a few years ago. They were to be replaced with HK 33s and the state owned arms firm MKEK had and agreement to produce 500.000 of them. This project was stopped when it reached to 80.000 rifles. There are rumors says that they weren't liked much and the offer of the private Turkish arms firm Kale Kalip was much more attractive(I guess being home made id also an important reason)

This is the proto-type of the rifle they're making.

Sarsilmaz, another private company is also up to someting I hear.

Btw, The 80.000 that was produced is in the service alrady...along with other types of cal. 5.56...i.e Special Forces uses.

Use the "Command display loaded" button to see the weapons.

    Thanks Clearday-TRForce and Kontra1.
Is it a 40 mm grenade launcher integrated under the rifle or is it a new calibre like the American 25 mm air burst round?
