Nice pictures! However, I don't understand why is it that they never wear those berets like they should? You know, the insignia right in the middle of the eyebrow? Also, are they planning on getting new uniforms? Because, those uniforms look very outdated to me. The Turkish military has a big budget but the uniforms don't look as nice in comparison to even countries with a significantly lesser military budget. For example: Poland or even Serbia! I just do not get it. The only exception are Maroon Berets. Still, everyone else seems to be wearing those half-gloves or whatever you call while all the other armies are switching to those tactical gloves. Can someone please explain?
1. Thats how berets are worn here and you may have noticed we are not as interested in patches or insignias as much as other countries, for us less is more. Thats how they've been worn, so they're just continuing how it is.
2. The uniforms are brand new on the contrary, if you'll notice the new camouflage has been spread throughout the whole Armed Forces but you can occasionally see us wear our old uniform, or even plain green uniforms because those give you better mobility up in the mountains, and our new uniforms tend to be more vulnerable to ripping in the crotch area in those mountainous environmentsOutside of that the new uniform is great.
3. The gloves are the soldiers option entirely, they can wear those finger cut gloves, tactical gloves or regular burn proof gloves that look like oven mittens, but the gloves themselves are the choice of the soldier not based on what is issued and what isn't.
Hope that answers your questions.
