"The very first thing you should do (if you haven't already)is see a doctor and get to the root of your problem....if he can't see a specialist"

Damn studiesno time for sports.
same here..tho it has its disadvantages; before i did any PT i was at 'ideal weight'... when i started some exercising n stuff i lost more than 10 kg...now i'm slowly gaining, but i'm still almost 10 kgs underweightOriginally Posted by TF160SOAR
funny thing is i dont even look skinny or anything, and most people would guess me at least 10-15 kgs heavier...
I have the opposite "problem", My metabolism is normal, and I stay the same weight, but as soon as I just train a bit... I put on muscle QUICK...Originally Posted by Haiw

dont worry none too much on cold weather...depending on what branch youre going into, basic training is pretty damn hot, specially ft benning. just get yourself good and healthy..keep up the running. the army book on it says 20 minutes of hard running (which means at your max heart rate) is what you should be doing 4-5 days a week. hard running just means youre pushing yourself, you dont have to be sprinting or making yourself puke. the pushups and situps will come when youre there. if i remember right, when yo uget to basic you need to be able to do 35 pushups, and 45 or so situps in 2 minutes, along with a 2 mile run in something like a 17-18 minute time. its nothing. however, you dont want to just be doing the minimum now do you? i'd focus the most on running. if youre in halfway decent shape you can get yourself close to the max on pft(phys fitness test) in pushups and situps in less then 3 weeks.
well it's not that i dont get muscle...i DO get muscles normally..problem is...i still loose weight..it's really weird...when i just started the muscles came just as fast as the weight went down...it's really weird...like to get the muscles my body broke off every single piece of fat in my body everywhere...Originally Posted by Guttorm

Do you mean the minimum APFT standards? I believe its 42 pushups, about 45 situps and 16+ run... may be not exact, but I believe that's the barely passing scores.if i remember right, when yo uget to basic you need to be able to do 35 pushups, and 45 or so situps in 2 minutes, along with a 2 mile run in something like a 17-18 minute time
when you first get to basic, they have basic requirements that are below the normal army standard of 180 total, 60 each. the regular army standard is, for males of the 17-21 age group, 42 pushups, 53 situps, and 2 miles in 15:51. when you first get to basic they dont expect you to be there just yet, but they do set a slightly lower goal for you initially. after they assess this, real PT begins. people who are in need of more help, get it.
Personally I push myself hard in work outs. Ive been in good shape realitivly and am pushing myself hard, I did a good 45 minute run today and a ass load of situps and push-ups. I dont worry about the minimum requirements that will be no sweat, I just want to be a better soldier than anyone else. Keep the info coming guys thanks alot for all the response's and help![]()
just get used to runnin, thats half of what we do in this job...specially certain MOS's

You should be able to gain some weight with milk mixed in with bananas, strawberries, etc. 2 times a day. Since you burn energy and have the highest rate of metabolism in the morning, definitely drink one then, and like mentioned above, 1-2 hours before workout.
Good luck in basic!
Eat at least one pizza and drink half a dozen beers every night. Keep up the running and you will stack on the weight in no time. Remember try not to spew up the beers and pizza during the runs as you will only be wasting valuable carbo's.![]()
