The buckles are easy peasy to open, you just yank up on them and they're open. You don't tend to just use the velcro fastenings as things tend to fall out of unsecured pouches, like magazines and other important thingsIn the heat of battle, obviously you don't **** about under fire with the buckles...
PLCE buckles are great......Does the issue PLCE have the cover for the velcro to keep from securing when you dont want it to?

i find with the buckles is each to their own, some prefer the security of doing them doubled, but i prefer having quck access to my stuff by just doing em once, its worth doubling it on one of your utility pouches that you keep all your bits and bobs in though saves stuff falling out.Originally Posted by Hydroquip
Me too, but each to his own.Originally Posted by FozzieBear
I'd loose the ETC as well - just get a proper Utility or WB pouch - far more use.
Royal, mind posting the contents of your mine kit?
Does it include party spray?

Brill thanks! So what do you use the ammo pouches for? Ive seen a GPS fits snugly in there...
Well the actual ammo pouches on that vest I use them for:
1. Has first aid items in it for qucik access..
2. the second one has my Swiss goggles in them, chem light sticks and forage bag and i hold my facepaint compacts in them..If I was out and about after the hammer dropped It will hold AK mags. Mini14 mags and M4 mags......
the other pouches hold a variety of items incase I should have issues and not be able to make it out for what ever reason..brokn bone,,,snake bit...what ever..I have a pocho shelter and 550...hammock and food in the back pouch....one in the very front on the right stays empty or holds my Steiner Binos or in yesturdays case the digi cam...

Thanks for the response Royal. Sorry to hear you will return to civvie street soon. Must take some getting used to dropping a couple of gears...
Sound Mine kit, remembered the red cylumes, so bright even can be seen during the day, right?
HAve you heard of the secret weapon party spray used to discover trip wires? Spray it out in front, let it settle and follow the line to where it loses contact with the ground. Only question is when do you spray? And you leave one hell of a big tell tale...
I'm getting old - it's time for a changeOriginally Posted by ryan woods
The STRE's (or whatever they're called now) used cans of silly string for checking for wires - but as you say it's a hell of a tell tale. There are other ways too though.
