Platypus - they were a cheap UK version of the Camelback. Not as durable and with no carrier (IIRC) but great for carrying a load of water in your bergan as the collapse down to nothing when empty.

    What Royal said.

It was actually my ACF instructor who got it for me ( the now well mentioned ex para pathfinder) and I was one of the first people walking around with the new hands free concept... Great bloke he set up a basic shopping list for me and went to his store where he even got discount for me. Anyway saw him again and the bastard switched over to Camelback, the traitor!

ANyway great piece of kit, going strong for seven years now! Gotta laugh at my outfit, nothing Gucci here mate: maglight solitaire, Swiss Champ, Hi gear ruck (performs great though, or else I would have swapped it long ago, no reason to ditch it... KISS), self improved 58' webbing, basic folder, nanok sleeping bag, regetta jacket (first and last time I bought that brand! next up a Buffalo) outdoors on a shoe string!! If it works, will change all though with my entrance to the forces... Only stuff I have to shout about is my metal mug, Berghaus boots (spend most on boots, smock and sleeping bag, right? ) and my own, home made PSK....

Its a good piece of kit... for the price. But if you can try and get Camelback w/t carrier, and let me know if you can! They are superior... better drinking devices, cleaning kits (important!!!) dont know about their openings though...

mine is plastered with pieces of inner tube repair plasters... you can still stand on it though.. WHEN FULL!

Yup, I'm aware of camelback, we got aload of dpm issued versions in our stores. Wasn't really looking to splash out the money yet on hands-free water kit, and the Platypus looks fine, cheap and durable for ex's.

JW is german, or not? I donīt know exactly.

This pic was taken October last year in Norway. I had the first snow of this winter and it was bloody cold.....but the landscape was beautiful.

This experience makes me adjusting my equipment now.
