Eh, it's alright but I prefer a more modular system.

It's been out for a while. Ever since Cadpat was issued.

and from what I gather from those who used it on a realistic manner that its a POS that doesnt carry an effective combat load.

Called_to_duty11 : Have you ever been out in the field using a vest WITH a buttpack while carrying a bergen ?

Well, I have! And it dosn't work, at all ..... I stripped my buttpack away at the first posible occation. The only rucksack you may carry is a small patol sack. and still, it's uncomfy.. You have no use for the butpack really. The only POSETIV thing with a butpack is, if the vest is modular and if it's easy to remove it and apply it, then it could be useful if you're just supposed to patrol the streets.. otherwise.. A waste of money if you ask me..

A butt pack? WTF? what do you plan on carrying? spare socks? Anything that can be carried in an asspack can be carried in a 3 day pack, with room to spare, plus the advantage of QUICK doffing when needed.

you OUGHT to reconsider what you're planning for and think it through again. and consider the line concept.

    eggroll : x2

I had to test out the buttpack 'cause I don't wanna perjudge anything before I have tried it out, and 5 minutes was more that enough,,, I can survive 24 hours on my vest, comfy! And anything ells than ammo, and esencials (med.kit, PACE and such,,,) I can fit in ONE medium pouch.. And ass eggroll said: If you need more space you need to reconsider your needs (whats most important: nintendo or survivalkit ?).

X3 I'm not a big fan of the but pack and got rid of mine as soon as I was able.

6 isnt enough magazines? thats how many the british squaddies carry and it does them fine, why would you need more than 180 rounds?

You'd be surprised how quickly 180 rounds can go bye-bye in a major engagement. I know it's a tired reference, but just think, "Black Hawk Down". You think 6 mags would be able to last for 18 hours of a non-stop firefight? You gotta be prepared. That's why a lot of forces (at least in the US military) carry 10 mags at least.

Yeah ... In combat bullets get their own wings and fly right out of your rig.
I carry 220rounds of 7,62x51NATO when out in field. But if I'm issued my 5.56 I'm carrying 420rounds.. That's just about the right amount for me ..

sigh...and how often does an event like BLACK HAWK DOWN happen for gods sake.

6 rounds is enough its not like Canada's and other Army's are fukkin in firefights all the time or unloading there rifles for fun.

While it only holds six mags, Canadian soldiers are issued 12 mags forcing you to find room for the rest where you'd rather have something else.

Who the hell said it can hold 6 mags? it has 4 single mag pouches on the chest, plus the option to carry 5 mags in each of the C-9/2 qt canteen pouches on the side.
