    Floodwaters ravaged a number of small towns near Deh Rawod in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, as three days of intense rain caused the banks of the Helmand River to overflow by as much as three kilometers. The flooding left countless people homeless and stranded hundreds on small islands. Coalition forces worked through the night to rescue trapped people. More than 200 stranded Afghans were airlifted to safety.
