Most of the time you here the word regular in the SF world it applies to two things. We say the "regular army" to refer to all other guys in the army. We also sometimes say "regular SF" in comparison to the National Guard SF.

But you have so many different SF groups(I don't mean naval or air force). If they conduct similar mission why aren't they example one BIG 5th SFG?

this may sound stupid from your point of view, but we don't have SF groups. Some webpages say BUT trust me, we don't. Police have but military don't have a fulltime unit (have heard some rumours about the specialjaegers)

Groups have regional responsibility. 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 10th all train to opperate primarily in one region of the world. All SF groups are not 5 SFG because they have their own unit designation.

Edit: Please correct me if I'm wrong.

To expand on this - the various groups have a regional focus that involves language and culture.

    Correct me too.

Scuba and TF are correct. Each Group has its own area of the world to work in, however 2/7th did go to Afghanistan for a few months to help take the load off of 5th and 3rd Grps and the 2 NG Groups.

Does anyone have a map that shows the Special Forces area of operations or Area of Responsibility and if you have the map of the US Commands that would be great.

like this is Central Commands But I would like one bigger and of the world.
