It is pretty controversial subject in Poland and in fact You don't see it very often in books.

What do they teach You in school about that?
There's good movie by Andrzej Wajda "Ashes"(1965) based on the novel by Stefan Zeromski about Polish soldiers in Spanish campaign.
This film (and book!) was very controversial-it shows the whole subject in totally diffrent way that it used to be (killing civilians and priests during Sarragossa assault etc.)
I will appreciate any answer.
