What rifle are you mounting it on exactly and are you going for a Marine or Army sniper look? The reason I ask is becausse each service used pretty different equipment at times depending on what year in the war you are trying to portray.

The one in the picture is the Winchester Model 70 which was used by the USMC in the early years of the war. It wasn't all that common except for that time and after April '66 I would dare say that most snipers were using the M700/M40's.

The most commons scopes for that time were the ART's and ART II's which do pop up with some frequency on eBay. There are decent enough looking replicas from WGC that won't break the bank either. I have an M14 and coming soon will be a SP M40, both for my Vietnam Marine scout-sniper kit and I use an ART look a like.

Do you have a rifle that you plan to install a scope on or do you just want a Vietnam period scope? Vintage military scopes can be $$$$.

well im planninh on putting a VSR-10 Pro-Sniper.I dont nessecarly need a vintage scope. Tarwar Warrior suggested a ART replica, do you know what one looks like or do you know the replica of one at www.wgcshop.com? also I'm planning on making a ghillie, but I live in socal so the landscape I play at is wide tall grass lands and a few tiny patches of trees with greenery.I found a do it your self kit at https://secure.quixion.net/bushrag/s...79335d3592a4da but i dont know what colors I should choose. could you suggest the colors. here is a pic of what my battlefield looks like without all the tress and it has tall rolling hills

    Fired you the PM.

On the ghillie suit note, those will be fine if you are doing a normal game but Nam era snipers never used them.
