i'd say it was "heimvorteil". The Brazlians still have it in them to turn a match over with sheer individual skill as we have seen in the additional 3 minutes... Germany was the better team theough.

And they should not have conceded the late 2nd goal.

    Euro 2012 and WC 2014!
I wasn't amazed about the result or the 18 years. I am happy about the overall situation of the national team and the league in general.
10 years back the experts asked for more young players in the national team and the league. Today, the teams are full of them.
They even increase the spending in home grown young talents.
Football is just fine here. Cheap tickets, full and new stadiums, no real favorite and healthy clubs without a Russian criminal behind.
Will visit the Augsburg Stadium on August. Augsburg vs. Nuremberg. Exile-Swabians vs. the lords of the rolled-R.
A derby, stadium full and you have no problem to get 8 tickets.
The only thing they could do is putting D-Dorf and Cologne in the the same league. Better: create a league for them.

Seriously, I can't understand all the hype about Neuer. Neither as the goal keeper of Bayern München, nor yesterday for Germany he could convince me. Is his competition really so bad that we need such a clumsy guy as our goal keeper?

He was outstanding against Utd in the first leg last season, it's not often you see such a virtuoso performance from a keeper. For periods it was 11 v Neuer.

I think that's the point. At least so far in this season I am not exactly impressed by his performance. Ok, he just changed his team and got some hard time by his fellow Schalke fans, so maybe he needs some more time to adjust (I give him that). We'll see.

I'm also not into the Neuer hype, he seems to flub the ball quite a bit and sometimes runs out too far in a seemingly uncontrolled manner when chasing crosses.

He's got excellent reactions and is tough however, maybe he just needs to polish his game.

I think he is an overall great keeper. He sometimes makes mistakes when going out to intercept a ball. But this simply happens from time to time when you do it very agressively. When it succeeds it defuses a dangerous situation without being noticed much. The fails are noticed much more. But I agree that he overdoes it sometimes, a little like Wiese.
This reminds how much I hate the German football slogan "Wenn er rausgeht muss er ihn haben" (If he tries to intercept the ball he has to get it). Clearly, if you get the ball 100% of the times you tried, you are not doing it aggressively enough and could have done it more often.

Imo one of Neuers biggest strengths is not the goalkeeping per se, but the way he opens the game of his team. His kick-ins and especially throw-ins are unparalleled. Pay attention to it, and you will see how immensely they help his team.
I actually think they way he opens the game is quite revolutionary.

Im sure that Wenger has his plans. He is so good in scouting young guys.
