Well when some Sheikh buys an EPL club that is OK, because the EPL has OTHER quality clubs. Spending money to make an Elephant among mice, is hardly a progress for Football. Just like buying out a World Cup venue.

Wasn't the Olympic Lyonnais an elephant among mice for 7 years? Didn't hear anything against Jean Michel Aulas killing the spirit of football back then.

... yes and see the state of French Football. Last French Euro Finalist was...Monaco in 2004. Last relevant French team was the one led by the then pre-retired Zidane (2006).

On a side note, I have always said the OL was the worst thing to happen to the French League.

    Ibra deal is set.

I guess Tevez or Dzeko or both might be options for AC right now.

Ibra transfer is a great financial deal for AC milan.

x2. I hear the French IRS will get paid more than Ibra himself on an annual basis for his services at PSG. His gross salary is close to 30 million euros, while his net salary is 14 million euros. These sheikhs are morons in some ways

That is the plain truth. The French fiscal burden is the cause of the lack of investment in the Ligue 1. However there is a catch. French football academies and their general system of Sport-Etudes are great sources of young talent. So if the Qataris get those up and running...

On a side note, the Aspire Academy is a huge flop, I mean even the DPRK has a better football program.

France's minister for sport said the signings of Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic were "astronomical" and "irrational" and "paint a deplorable picture of football today".

As a Milan fan, I'm so relieved to see Ibra gone. Now I won't have to see him sulking around when he isn't the center of attention or looking the other way when his teammates score, and choking on the most important games.

**** Ibra. Give me 10 Boatengs and Nocerinos.
