That's pretty decent financially. Compare it to a lot of clubs, like Spurs for example who i'm sure have made a massive loss over the years on transfers.
The problem is Liverpool have established themselves as a selling club. Making money on transfers is an ambition of mid-table/lower league clubs, not a great club like Liverpool. They should be keeping players like Alonso and Mascherano, or at least replacing them with quality players. As it stands they've sold these players to pay off debt, which is a sad situation for one of the world's greatest clubs.
