Hehe! Nice Question! Two C-47s Remained in Service with HAF in Thessaloniki's AB for Historic and Tradition Reasons, and not for operational Reasons. I heared that the 2 remaining C-47 "Dakota" retired last year
AS for the other request, i try to find some more Greek SF photos later, for the moment you can enjoy these....

Yes they are. They are also using Arktis gear. They are the Hellenic Air Force CSAR unit (31MEE)
Do you have any info on them? Are they the "Acheilles" unit I've heard about?

    31st SPECIAL OPERATIONS SQUADRON "ACHILLES"

The First Special operation Unit of Hellenic Airforce formed in 1998, as Special Operations Group “SMEE” (Sminos Idikon Epihiriseon) wich has CSAR operations as a mission. In the year 2000 Greek Airforce aquired 4 “Super Puma” Helicopters and the next year another 3. In 2001 the “SMEE” upgrated and re named as 31st Special operations Squadron “31 MEE” (31i Mira Idikon Epixiriseon) The mission of the unit is operations SAR (Search and Rescue) During Peace, while in a case of War the unit will do CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue) Operations, and other special operations. In the unit serve only proffecionals, who must pass varius Special operations Schools, such as the Airborne-Para School (SHAL) the Rangers School, the Guerila Warfare School, and others.
