Is the Zuzana Russian? Looks South African too? Didn't know the South Cypriots had self-propelled artillery.

It is Slovakian. It was ordered by the Greek Army in 1998, but later given to the Cypriot National Guard. Stupid purchase. The Denel G6 is the best of the category...

More so the GIAT Caesar with a 52-caliber barrell. I bought the "Elliniki Amyna Kai Asfaleia" #1 (That's where the pics posted by GREEK-AIRBORNE came from) today, and they say that most of the problems of Zuzana G (Greek) have actually been solved and that it is now in full service with the National Guard of Cyprus.

Greek Apache Team achieves 'first flight'

The Greek Apache Team officials said they were proud to have achieved the "first flight" of the AH-64DHA at approximately 8:53 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, in Mesa, Ariz.

This event was witnessed by LTC A. Tsilikoudis and MAJ S. Kalaitzidis, Hellenic Army representatives to the Mesa facility as well as several employees on the program team.

This is the first of 12 new-build D-Models being produced under a Direct Commercial Contract for Greece with production occurring this year and deliveries to Greece next spring.

If you found yourself in the same spot, with an "ally" trying to grab some of your territory, plus a centuries old feud, there would be no love lost between you and them, believe me.

We have no problems with Greece. We are arming ourselves because we live in a very dangerous neighbourhood (Syria, Iran, Iraq, Armenia etc...). The Greeks arm themselves against us. Let them ruin themselves. And we don't give a damn about your territory. Where did you get that? You are the ones dreaming about Istanbul etc...

    where do we get that?hmmmm.......

unilateral claims on greek soil, war threats, jet overflights over our islands, aegean army, cevik pense exersices(=flexible pincers, greek island blockade and invasion exersices).....not to mention an average of 1 war/crisis per decade in the last century

just the typical paranoia i guess

    Really? Like what?

Anyway, it's a photo thread, and a good one at that. We'll talk somewhere else.
