The Cypriot Special Forces do have many in common with the SOF of Greece but its not a copy of them.
They do pass some Training Schools in Greece and they have the same name
"Dunamis Katadromon" -Commando Forces- and MYK Underwater Demolition Unit.
They have a variety of weapons from P-90, G-3, and Ak-74

    Some photos

    Hey airborne!

Thank you for the photos but I am interested more in history of Cypriot SF especially if they are not greek copy. So far I know there were no SF when Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974, but National guard fought well and inflicted some casualties to turkish paratroopers. Today Cyprus has Ranger regiment, SF battalion, MYK company and CT squad but is probably of police. You forget to mention that they use also FN Minimi. So tell me more airborne...

From what i know the National Guard of Cyprus formed its first Rangers Squadron in June 2 1964.
Ofcourse it was a small number of Cupriot Rangers who fought in 1974 Invasion. Greece send 2 Commandos Squadrons in the island which like their Cypriot coleques fought bravely the enemy.

I didn't mentioned the Minimi because i was refering to the asault rifles of the NG.

Ofcourse @Flanker7 knows much more about Cypriot SF since he is one of them...
