You are right, they are officers in a very fine and proud and historical Navy. They know what they are doing very well....so they have the right to put there hands in pockets, in a relax position. May be they have all day the fingers on buttons...

i dont know about greek navy but in the infantry it was not tolerated putting your hands in your pockets for officers at least .
