And the first submarine with the name Papanikolis,Y-2, one of the most successful Greek submarines during WWII.
The ship's conning tower was preserved and is on display in the Maritime Museum at Piraeus.
Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III of USN, Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples visits Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Dimitrios Eleusiniotis. Admiral Locklear is also Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Africa.
