Evzoni of the Presidential Guard appeared in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier wearing traditional Pontian costumes carrying the typical black head band, known as “Paslik” or “Paslouk,” on the occasion of the May 19 Commemorating day. The date has been chosen by Parliament as a national memorial day to commemorate the massacre of some 353,000 ethnic Pontian Greeks (Black Sea coast) in 1919 by Ottoman forces.

    Hi guys!

Ive asked this question years ago, but Ill ask it again.

My mom is visiting Athens now (this week) and Ill asked her if she could bring me something Hellenic army stuff from there. Is there any posibilities to find that Greek army vest, which Ive seen in every photo?

I mean the one which is used with Special Forces (Dynameis Katadromon) and Marines (Pezoynavtes)? The one which is like the US LBV-E-vest?

Mom told me she visited some army stores in Monastiraki, do they have real military issue there like Lizard-camo vests or something realdeal?

If theres some special store could you send me the street info so my mom would visit there?

    Regards,
    Manolis - Finland

Ballis in Ifaistou Street used to sell this specific vest in Greek camo. It's called "Eksartisi Eidikou Typou" (Special Purpose Vest).
