I was wondering, is there a store that sells C7 Nella bayonets and the plastic scabard?

As we noticed before, the serrated version of the DIREKT has the serrations in an unusual place at the front. There is also a plain edge version but we are not concerned with that now.

As you see, I had a Cold Steel kitchen knife handy too. It's a nice blade, but it's made for different tasks, and I deemed it too thin for this kind of aggressive cutting. There's always a chance of chipping or breaking a blade that's too thin. If I had a serrated version of the same knife, I might have used it, but now I only have the plain edge Cold Steel kitchen knife.

This test proves that the serrations at the front do work for certain tasks. Gills can be kind of hard to get out of a fish, but the DIREKT managed well. Also, it was strong enough to break the backbone of the fish - another task not suited for the thinner Cold Steel kitchen knife.

In my eyes, the DIREKT is somewhat akin to a Japanese pulling saw. These Japanese saws are different from western ones; the Japanese pulling saw is only used in one direction, as the name implies - to pull.

Oh, and that was one great assortment of veggies in that soup... you don't see all of them in the pic, like the chinese sprouts, the water chestnuts, the little shallot onions... yum, yum...

    Aloha Walker-69,

WOW! Great pics...how ya took those while cleaning a fish at the same time is more impressive than the performance of the DIREKT ME! I am very glad the knife is working out as "you thought".

Thanks for the great pics and "proof"...BTW, that soup looked great...recipe please!

    God bless and Happy Holidays!!!

    9" blade

When I dig this out of the backpack when out in the wild, people always ask if I'm compensating for something, haha.

Are they in the ball park?

Back on topic. I always like Rapala knives for cleaning fish and game.

The soup... it was a mix of Finnish and oriental. Last monday, I was eating out and went to a fast food place where they sell oriental food. I ordered Japanese soup, and though it was just fast food, it blew my brain. It was just so-o-o-o delicious. Then I got curious about making soups myself - I have done a loot of cooking during some periods of my life, but never really got into making soup. Soup should be healthy for a "middle-aged" person like me, it is not so fattening. I now must look into Thai, Chinese and Japanese soup recipes and learn to make some.

BTW no offense Chad, Sneeker and others... when you reply to a post, try not to include the pictures in the reply! Only text plz. That makes the viewing experience easier for us all.

    Default Vesuri

How's that for a blade. It's a Finnish "vesuri", two-handed model from Fiskars. For clearing forest, it's good, except of course with a chainsaw or something else running on petrol, you get more done.

The paracord is not Finnish but it works real well with the vesuri. Why orange? Because I don't want to get shot as a rabbit like some others.

My small contribution and collection. Use to have a nice S&W, but lost it while hiking.

Tell me Polyshot, how do you like the Nitrous Blitz? I don't own any Benchmade yet and I have never handled one.

Well, even though it is my 1st Benchmade and I get my hands on it for only 2 days 2 days, I can tell you it's certainly well worth the price(that's it, if know where to look)...... it's well-balanced and feels natural when I hold it.....

Compare to the M16-13 I used to carry it is slimmer, lighter, and slightly shorter when folded, although the blade itself is almost as long........
