Spyderco Temperance? There's a Spyderco Temperance 2 model that's been on the market for a while, but it's a limited production model. I have two Spyderco Temperances myself (original model).

A bit similar, but bigger, are the different Spyderco Jerry Hossoms. They have been on sale and can be found at real cheap prices on the net:

Feels pretty solid for a $10 knife.

    Default Stryker copy

Yes, I have seen this before somewhere on the net. It's a close copy of the Benchmade Stryker. The Stryker itself is a neat knife, though discontinued and replaced by the Nitrous Stryker. I have a Mini Stryker.

What is really wrong here is that they have used the Benchmade logo and put it right where it's supposed to be on real Benchmades. I'm not blaming you, not at all, it's kind of interesting to see this kind of thing. But what hurts more is when they make copies of rescue knives like the Victorinox Rescue tool; then people might use inferior tools in life-or-death situations.

It's a really blatant copy. But as I said before, I'm not blaming you.

Edit: -just had a look at my Mini Stryker... the Benchmade logo is a very close copy of the real Benchmade logo. It's absolutely going to fool someone who isn't familiar with Benchmade knives. The one thing that stands out is the serrations. Benchmade serrations are totally different, and that is the biggest giveaway.

Yeah, it's wrong, but I have no ethics. For a mere 7 euros I could not resist. I'm eager to find out how long it will take before it falls apart. Like you said, it's not advisable to use such cheap copies as proper knives. They're curiosities, really.

Also got this for the same price. I'm sure it's "inspired" by a real brand too, though I don't know which one.

Niels, dealextreme.com? I bought a fake Böker Subcom from them, and it's ****ing awesome. I think I paid like $5-10.

Since we're talking knives, does anyone know if its worth to drop $100 for this one:
    SigTac® SIG SAUER® Folder

A quick google and what do we find:

"The SIG SAUER® Folder takes the lines of the famous SIG SAUER® P226 and blends them into a tough, tanto-style blade design, creating a feeling right at home in the hand and delivering performance paralleling the P226 duty pistol. Blade is made of AUS 8 steel, reversible pocket clip, dual easy opening thumb stud, Zytel grip, liner lock and lanyard hole. Overall length of 8.5” with blade length of 3.34”. Made in Seki, Japan."

The price does not compare favourably with Spydercos. The Sig Sauer folder is made in Seki-City, and many Spyderco models are made in Seki-City. But you can get a Spydie with VG-10 steel for less. AUS-8 steel is OK, but VG-10 is superb.

Then again, Seki-City is maybe the city on this planet where they have the best knife-makers. So, an AUS-8 blade from Seki-City is always going to cost more than an AUS-8 blade from China.

I think it's a specialty product for owners of Sig Sauer pistols. You can get a CRKT AUS-8 folder for a lot less, or get a Spydie for less and have superior steel.

HOWEVER you might find this knife for a much lower price on some other internet store, or EBay. Then it's going to be better value for money.

Okay, didn't know about the steel. The main reason I want that knife is because it looks good. I love the handle. Anyway, I guess I'll check ebay etc, can't believe I didn't think about that in the first place.

    Default Aus-8

Well you know, AUS-8 is not bad. It's better than 420HC, better than 440A. But it's not a premium steel either.

    VG-10 > The Universe

Some new knives from Henry's Fork, Yamaneko Knives!

No official name yet, but I'm thinking AVD (Anti-Vato Device)

An enlarged version of a Kiridashi, a traditional Japanese knife used for everyday tasks. This is a dagger-type knife, built for self-defense instead of everyday practicality, which brings us to..

    ...the 'Kneck Knife'

Very very sharp, very practical, and easy to access on a loop of 550 worn as a necklace. I am aware of neck knife 'leashes' or cords, whatever, that would snap, preventing the wearer from being choked with it if they were assaulted. I'm not sure how to do that with a knife with a sheath with excellent retention such as this one. Don't get choked, I guess!

Sorry 'bout the blurry pics. Indoors. Better pics some other time.

Henry's Fork, your knives keep getting better. Can't wait to use them in the woods (though not the AVD yet... right?)

Those are some kickass knives, Taco.
I've got three of Henry's knives, and they're great.

Solid. Japanese-style wrap (Tsuka-ito). Crosses over itself. Basically, every-other wrap is a bend/knot on the sides of the knife.
