Smokey old diesels are things of the past, modern turbo diesels are the dogs bollocks. I drive the new Hiluxes for work, we also have some older style diesels and they are worlds apart in performance.

They don’t stick Toyota badges on badly constructed vehicles.

have to correct one of you guys again. The Kijang (Innova over here) and the Avanza are two totally different vehicles. The innova is the size of a Minivan, while the avanza of a compact sedan.

As for the badge engineering, its ok since Daihatsu was bought by Toyota so the quality and control is there. So chillax!

That's what I just wanted to tell... Well, you seems know quite well. But "Avanza" is not a sedan, it is a compact MPV, which is designated to low-economy people (Sorry) while Innova is an MPV based vehicle, but looks like SUV. As my experience, Innova is quite reliable in narrow road condition, the handling is great while the 2.7L engine is enjoyable thrilling.

If I'm not wrong, Daihatsu designed the model, while Toyota designed the engine. Then, they are joint production. Just FYI: Daihatsu is pretty much cheaper than Toyota. But still, both are the same as supermonkey's old hilux engine, slow as heLL. 1.5L (103PS) and 1.0 (only 63PS)!!! Maybe you cannot even go over a small hill with that freakin' engine.

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression, I was saying that the Avanza is about a size of subcompact design, but you are correct its not a sedan per se. The Innova is based on the Hilux, using Hilux Chassis and type of engine.

Funny The Fortunner, The Hilux, and the Innova are one vehicle actually. the other two came from the Hilux.

Reason why im familiar with em, is because I used to be a product planner for the Hilux, Land Cruiser, and the Prado here in the Philippines. Young and stupidity ios the reason why I left the company! oh and cause Im paid way higher now than if I would have stayed there.

i have a 2005 hi lux and i use it for work here in the farm. the ride is a bit bumpy but great truck overall. smaller than f150 but largest japanese made pickup in the market here. im planning to get another hi lux later this year if i have enough money.

after seeing the photos, i hope i can save enough so i can get a land cruiser 2015 :P i like SUVs and its my dream car. a friend took me on a ride on his land cruiser and it was amazing. better than expedition imo
