It is worth adding that the report focuses on irregularities and excessive number of injuries caused during training. Many pictures seen are used to illustrate irregular / unnecessary or, as in the case of pictures from units - idiotic practices. The general message is that IDF is working to ensure safety of soldiers, provide protection during raining and eliminate irregularities.
Great pics Gomie...from conversations with an oketz soldier, they really get attatched to their dogs, way more then those that keep a dog as a pet.
Is that a sig sauer holstered? CMIIW, but do all sayerot who recieve pistols get only the sig issued or can they recieve a jericho or metula?

Shalom!
Two questions about the KASDA Helmet. I heard that it is nearly the same as the PASGT Helmet of the US Forces. So what's the difference between thoose two types? And who in the IDF uses the KASDA? 99% of all IDF members i see on pictures an clips are still wearing the normal paratrooper style helmet... Orlite?

HI,
You are right about the attachment between soldiers and their service dogs. The following link is the story of a British WWII Para who was so devoted to his dog that when they were killed in battle, they were buried in the same grave. The only time this has been allowed in British service as far as I know.
I know its not IDF, but I hope you will excuse this as I feel it pertinent to your post.

By the way, I visited their grave a couple of years ago.
