About non infantry units doing raids, infantry ambushes etc'. well, we did those things during the peak of the intifada, in rather hot places. including a couple of guns blazing raids on a PA police staion (of course we brought a tank with us, which bombed the siht out of the building). in fact, i saw more infantry action when serving in an armor unit, then when i served in reserves in an infantry unit.

Although, i really don't think that it's something to boast about. it's quite bad actualy, since tankers need to serve in tanks and have no business doing that kind of things. same goes for other non-infantry combat units.
Nor is it good for infantry to be engaged in some of these policing-type activities. Counter-insurgnecy type operations is one thing, but some of the other stuff (and here I am thinking about Intifada I type riot-control and the like) is a waste.

What about demoralizing too? How many of us thought about "breaking some arms" back in the time?

Absolutely! And that is worse than the loss of chayalut.

It looks like a Chinook(CH-47) to me, especially the bottom one.

The bottom one is the same model as the above, probably just mock-up

    To kunal biswas
Same gun, different optic sight( may be the zittara version)
    from defence pk forum
"The Indian version of Micro-Tavor, called Zittara, is designed by the India's Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) for use by India's special operations units. Zittara differs from the Israeli Micro-Tavor by allowing the use of three different configurations and ammunition types for different situations - a carbine (firing 5.56x30 ammunition), an assault rifle (firing 5.56x45mm) and submachine-gun firing 9x19mm rounds with accuracy of up to 200 meters. These conversions can be performed in the field with standard tools."

Exactly what I told my CO when they told us to enter buildings, I don't mind the job, but would have been glad to get some training before, especially when after that they tell you that some OP's are only for some rovai when it is convenient.
