im no Mod, but I think guys that we start considering alot about what we post and what/how we answer... I think we should keep the intent of this thread in contributing "safe" info and discussing stuff rather then a place to request information...
Those which have information that is requested or is sceptic of it being ok to post should send it to the appropriate IDF authority which handles that stuff prior to posting. I think we owe it/are obligated to the safety and security of the soldiers and citizens of Israel
Those who question what im saying should think of Lebanon 06 where there were encounters of Hezbollah matching IDF uniforms even with mitznefets ---> which for all we know the intel could have been gathered from this very thread
I think there are a number of things we need to consider in regards to this thread.
Firstly, new users asking for potentially sensitive info or pics is suspicious, and I think those who have that info and/or pics should check with the CO, or ask the Military Censor before posting responses.
Obviously we cannot just assume everyone is a terrorist, but be careful.
The other major point I want to make is that left wing wackos are trying to get IDF soldiers charged with war crimes, regardless of whether they have done anything or not.
Some of the far-left organisations may try to press charges against soldiers in foreign countries, but they can't do this if they don't know their ID. I think to be safe we should consider blacking out faces in pictures (always do this for SF), and certainly avoiding publishing names. I know this can be a pain in the ass but not being able to leave Israel due to potential charges would be a bigger pain.
I'm not a mod, so its not my place to make and enforce rules, but I think the mods should reconsider the policies on these specific issues.

IMHO, paranoia is not a very good adviser. I'd be inclined to think that most of these request are by kids who know s!t, but have no bad intentions. Nonetheless good measure of common sense before posting is always required that that should solve the issue. If not, Mods have shown that they know how to handle opsec here.
You're probably right, and most likely 99% of the requests are not involved with terrorism, but there is a small chance that somebody wants to know for the wrong reasons, so we should be careful.

I know that you never can be sure that a information you give/post/ show in picture could be used against someone. I agree that everyone must be very patient, because you don't know the anonymous writer on the other computer! But also i am sure that anyone of any gouverment organisation is watching this forum ( BND, FBI, MOSSAD???) and i am happy about this!!! In this times you never really know who's an enemy and who's not. Especially we have in germany a lot of germans that convert to islam. And in 2007 two germans and one turkish islamist tried to build bombs to kill US soldiers and civilians in germany, but got caught while building them from german police.
I know as an reenactor it is sometimes difficult to get information from real soldiers... my best friend was an ODA and he is only telling me things about gear, or how to attach it... but not one word about the past...
