IAF Zukit (Improved Fouga Magister) of the Flight Academy Aerobatic Team, perform smoke-takeoff in closed formation.
This is official photo by me.
My thanks to these amazing pilots

IAF still uses Fouga Magister for training? (or just for aerobatic team?)
These venerable planes must be expensive to maintain
nice pic btw.
Thanks for the info.
I really thought every countries retired them already, except maybe Senegal.
Any idea how IAF is dealing with spare parts? Aerospatiale is long gone now... didn't they "became" EADS?
IDFAF have some boneyard full of Zukits, now subjects to cannibalism.
Me and my friends tried to find in this boneyard Stick or simple Altimeter but the only ones we've found were shattered or stuck in rust, so it's clear that IDFAF took everything..
Actually the maintenance is done by IAI.
Thanks for the info.
One last question for tonight
What is the difference between Heyl Ha'Avir and Zroa HaAvir VeHahalal ?
That's easy one..
In the IDF there are Forces & Branches.
Some IDFAF Chief decided to change the name from The Israeli Air FORCE to The Israeli Air & Space Branch. It's Semantic, but became a joke even inside the IDFAF.
When you trying to say somthing with pompous style, you use the branch name.
Somthing like: "I'm Major of Zroa HaAvir VeHahalal, and don't you dare tell me that stuff". BS crap.
So Heyl Ha'Avir is the old name and means "Israel Air Force" and
Zroa HaAvir VeHahalal is the new name and means "Israeli Air & Space Branch" ?
Correct.
