Maybe the blue band is related to security clearance for Netaniyahu's visit but frankly I don't know.

The carton box filled with canned food, a ration for a four men for a day. The exact contents vary mildly depending on the period, but usually this will be some kind of ground beef, sweet corn, tuna, olives and bred (comes separately).

If you are looking for western style personal rations, you'll find none (except perhaps, imported stuff in some SF units).

my rations don't come in a wooden box. Ours comes in a cardboard box and contains:
3 cans of tuna, 1 can of spicy tuna, 1 can of pineapple (everyone loves to drink the juice), 1 can of corn and 1 can of Luna vegetable spread, a bar of halvah and of course a loaf of bread. There is also a few packets of ketchup and mustard as well as Turkish coffee and either prune or strawberry jelly and chocolate spread.

some variations are fruit cocktail instead of pineapple, halva, olives, grape leaves and sometimes we don't get the spicy tuna.

I believe the wooden box in the picture is an improvisation the soldiers organized for goodies or even a pakal kafe.

Yeps, exactly. Pakal kafe* is the most important piece of kit in the tank. You can precisely measure the quality of the crew by the quality of its pakal kafe.

*Pakal kafa (can be translated as coffee kit) is basically a wooden ammunition box filled usually with a portable gas stove, a frying pen, glasses/cups, a fenjan(kettle) and different goodies serving as additions to the rations.

    Aye. 4 more weeks.

We had CQB TARGAD in Tzeelim this week. ANYWAY, I was running around shooting etc, and when we were in one of the houses covering outside for another platoon, guess who walked in? Gabbi freaking Ashkenazi. Very nice guy. Smaller than he looks in photos.
