From regular IDF service, I would say early 90's, as soon as the 188th Barak Brigade switched from Centurion/Sh'ot to Merkava mk.3. But the reserve is an another thing.

Also, I wish I'd known where to get, much less that I could eat Chinese take-out during operations; instead of that bully-beef stuff and the Crimean War hard candies.

Somewhere in this thread is a photo of the ceremony marking the decommissioning of the last Shot. Maybe we can find it.

Found it (post #159) According to the banner, it went out of the standing army in July, 1992. Not sure about the last reserve units.

I've heard that reservist Sho't tanks were mobilized during the 2nd Intifada so my guess is retirement around ~2004ish for them.

    Google:
    Victoria and David Beckham
Both Victoria and David Beckham have the Hebrew script for the above "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine, who browses among the lilies" as a tattoo.

dont know what's true or what not, other sources say this in hebrew: Ani LeDodi Ve'Dodi Li harea shoshaneem

I see the li part but not the Ani Vdodi Vdodi Li part anyway this world gets stranger and stranger.

    Hi,
My hebrew is poor but I think that the translation is not "browses amongst the lillies" but who "lays amongst the lillies of the valley". Lillies of the valley is usually used in modern Hebrew for wild flowers.
I am sure a native Hebrew speaker can correct me.

    cheers

Are we talking the tattoo on the bicep or on the forearm? I was always under the impression that the forearm one was in sanskrit or something similar. They become very popular after he had his done around 2000 time.

I can clearly see a Lammed and a Yod on the forearm when I zoom in. The one on the lower bicep I can't quite make out.

The Beckkam's have Song of Songs 6.3 passage tatooed. It's not modern Hebrew and not ever remotely military related anyway.
    אֲנִי לְדוֹדִי וְדוֹדִי לִי הָרֹעֶה בַּשּׁוֹשַׁנִּים
