Single most horrid Israeli I've ever seen; Uglier than either Yasser or Suha Arafat.

i asked the commander of the armory a few months ago about this. he said the next draft (march) will be getting the micro and then the rest of givati will progressively swap to the micro by november. hopefully it happens but im very doubtful.
was back at the bach the other day for some admin ****, and a karakal girl was in an emda and saw 2 beduins, so she shot twice in the air and then lowered her weapon and shot herself in the finger and then again in the foot. no idea how the hell she fired twice haha
Nahal March '11 is being issued brand new Tavors, but I was told that in around 2-3 drafts they will replace the entire Battalion - everyone - with a micro.
Translation: Nahal will not see a micro for at least 3 years.
Also, Karkal is apparently replacing Herev at the Bach Nahal base at some point in the near future, while Herev is moving to Bach Golani.
My problem with the Micro is not the effective range (I've hit targets at 300 meters), but that they are issuing them with the Mepro 21 instead of the Mars and that they have no legitimate answer for the m203 (possibly the most awkward feeling weapon I've ever fired in my life).
WTF this is Photo thread!
Quick question. Just saw "Beaufort" and I thought it was great. The guy, Oshri is dating a girl from NJ and he had a US flag up by his bunk. It got me thinking, do lots of American Jews join the IDF? Here, in NY I'll sometimes see someone wearing an IDF shirt to the gym, but I don't know if that's from a birthright tour or they actually served.
Anyone who has served would never wear such shirt. It's for the tourists.
There are several answers, or ways to answer your question. Compared to the American Jewish population of the draft age. no, not many do, but I couldn't give you a hard number. Compared to a 'gius' - an induction, probably several dozen, maybe a 100 throughout the military, mostly in the infantry.
Where do they come from?
1. Young Americans who make Aliyah, they move to Israel in a series of deliberate steps. At some point after becoming citizens, getting a feel for the language, they get inducted. Depending on age, they serve various periods of time.
2. Same as 1, but with fewer deliberate steps and they tend to go into the army soon after arriving in Israel.
3. Mahal - This is a program that allows non Israeli Jews (ages 18-23) to serve in the army for 18-24 months. Usually (but not always) in infantry units because of the limited period of their service. They are not Israeli citizens at the time of their service.
4. Mahal has a related program for the children of Israelis who live abroad, parents who've left the country. Their children are considered to be Israeli, but are obviously not subject to the draft. Once they're inducted, they have to make a decision - finish the army and return 'home', or declare themselves as a 'returning resident' and then they're obligated (on paper anyway) to complete 3 years service and are subject to normal reserve duty.
Can someone ID this for me please?
I believe it is a SAM system, thought perhaps it was a captured Egyptian system
but not sure since I lost my notes from Hatzerim![]()
This is the best news i've heard in a long time. I hope they decide to never bring the micro to Nahal. It's a joke of a weapon.
Where did you hear this nonsense that Karakal will be moved to Nahal Tov? Herev would be better suited to be with Golani however....
I've seen that truck before, did you see that at Elyakim near Yoknam?
No, it was at the IAF museum at Hatzerim. I went there on a Saturday and the place was a graveyard.
Nobody there but my friend and I along with an Arab family.
