Each chir company is supposed to have at least one person trained with the camera.
It's become the most sought after pakal, since dover tzahal can call you to film whenever they need someone to film a different units targad or something.
There's also talk of a full unit who are combat cameraman, but I don't know much about that: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...8#.UAmNTtnHkg4
Thanks for the answers guys.
During Operation Hot Winter we had a cameraman (due to his age and the state of his equipment he seemed to be a reservist) embedded with my battalion.
It didn't seem like he had much experience as an infantry soldier and I was pretty glad that he made it through since that operation was the most intense experience I went through during my service (more than Cast Lead even).
IMHO this concept seems like a good idea.

Why not use helmet camera's instead? I thought I heard a while ago they were going to adopt helmet camera's.
Go to Fresh forum. There's a section for draftees. You sould find answeres there for all your questions, but the site is in Hebrew.
There's a difference between the cameras. The handycams they use permit more flexibility and have more features to document a situation and to produce editable vids.
