I just lost all my text explaining what these shells are thanks to the forum freezing. I don't want to write it all again! However I will say again that in the top photo the mystery white shells look like they are fused with radar proximity fuses. Which is a common practice with Illumination shells to make sure the candle is ignited at exactly the right height for maximum effect and so it burns out before hitting the ground (so as to not start fires).

    Convention is:
Illum is a white shell with black writing
Smk is light green with red writing
He is olive drab with yellow writing

The problem is we can’t see the full markings to determine what type of shell it is.

Yellow shells are not illumination and the yellow stripe is for High Explosive and beside these are white shells. Every standard M485 illumination shell actually has two explosive charges inside it. Actually every base eject shell, even leaflet shells and smoke shells, has these two charges, the primary and secondary expelling charges.

These shells are some sort of Israeli made pyrotechnic round (M8--) they could even be an illumination shell of some sort. They most certainly are not high explosive.
The Israeli yellow shells say illumination on them (te'ura or תאורה in hebrew).

OK that confirms what everyone has been saying is they are Illumination shells. But there are no yellow shells in these pictures. There are white shells but. Is that what you are referring too?

Ok. All I know is that the yellow Israeli shells are illumination, not the white ones, and the white Israeli ones say something explosive. Can't find a picture showing the first word though. The white/whiteish american ones say smoke HC. I'm getting lost now and maybe we're arguing the same thing. I don't know anymore lol.

On this white shells, there's no picture with the full inscription of the first word. However, you can see the last letter of the first word when you increase the size of the picture. The result is strongly pixelized so it's impossible to say for sure, but this last letter seems to be 'Zain'. The shell should be then: 'Pagaz Nafitz': HE shell.

Massive website about the Merkava tank. It has a pretty ****ty layout - looks like a late-90s website - but has good information. Here I learned the hebrew for tank commander - matak! Also explains what the markings on the Merkava mean.

If you are referring to the standard bipod of the Tavor, I believe they are made in-house with IMI. Very unreliable and requires constant maintainance.
If you are referring to the Micro Tavor then its by
