Rangers. Not as hardcore as the SF, but still above the rest.
I'll go for the USAF Special Ops. They're the underdogs, and being in the Air Force I bet they get cool toys.
Rangers. Not as hardcore as the SF, but still above the rest.
Big IF, eh?
Let's take small steps...
Army - Air Force - Marines - Navy - Coast Guard
Infantry - Armor - Engineers - Aviation - Air Defense Artillery - Field Artillery - Military Police - Military Intelligence - Signal Corps - Ordinance Corps - Chemical Corps - Finance Corps - Quartermaster Corps - Transporation Corps - etc.
I intend to at least attend the Ranger School and get airborne qualified.
If i get assigned to a light division, i'll be heading to ranger school following FA-OBC. if that works out? who knows, maybe i'll get a shot at an FSO slot with the 75th. SF would be a great job...had the time this summer to talk to a ton of the guys in the group up at Ft. Lewis, got a pretty good idea whats going on, but thats way too far into the future to even speculate about.

Now why would I want to join a US unit when I can join a Dutch unit? :P
Sorry. When I made this thread I just remembered that this forum is very international.Originally Posted by Haiw

Sorry, I am in a smart-alecky mood today.![]()
What's the use? It's just like 'in which football team would you want to play'... Doesn't really make much sense... Besides if you'd make an international version you'd have like a 100+ options.Originally Posted by Gauntlet

I want to join the one that stays at base camp and posts on militaryphotos.net
That's the best one.
Spanish SF or Spanish marines SF![]()
From US forces DELTA![]()
You shouldn't have included Delta there, you don't just join them when you want. Set some "realistic" goals
Exactly, no one "joins" Delta. There is no enlistment program for Delta. You have to work your ass off and be #1 in your unit at everything to even be considered to be scouted for the unit. Only about 100 soldiers are scouted each year, and around or less than 10 of them are actually selected to be Delta CANDIDATES, and fewer than that actually make it through the training process.
Oh, and I voted for AFSOC too (aspiring CCT). As mentioned, they are the underdogs, but still very kick-ass, high-speed guys.
from what I know about delta (primarily from Beckwiths' book) its not just a matter of working hard and being the best. a lot of it is simply them(delta) looking for a particular type of person. its just a personality thing. army SF is very similar in this. you dont just have to be able to do 200 pushups, its more a certain kind of mentality. if you ever get a chance to work with SF'ers, you'll see what I mean. They definetly tend not to do things the "army" way.
