    haha, I've had some great Latvian beer. Aldaris is the only kind we can get here in the States, and I have to drive 4 hours to Atlanta, GA to get that!

    Can't identify the shield and massive recuperator next to the breech.

    AFAIK it's Czechoslovak 100 mm field gun M53, similar to Russian BS-3.

    Does anybody have any info what's the status of a Latvian MoD budget in 2009......i mean after cuts,......and look's like more cuts can be followd......

    some really great pictures on this thread. i have a fascination with the militaries of this region. 3 tanks huh? really? it seems an odd number of tanks to maintain. not quite a proper contingent, like a squadron. what unit are they part of? how many APCs/LAVs?

    3 T-55 (T-72?) tanks donated by the Czech Republic, used for training only (smth for infantrymen better to have a tank, rather than APC coming at you and imagine that's a tank), but AFAIK they are used rarely due to the spares.
