I simply can't understand how hard it is to accept facts over 60 years after the war ended. Soviets did a horrible amount of crimes, already before the German attack. And yes, Germans did even more, but everybody knows that by now, so it's not really worth arguing for.
Still yours and my chance of survival were quaite higher in Stalin world than in Hitler's world. That make this system better in my book...

Not really, anyone who was from western Europe and was pro-democracy would probably be seen Nazi in the USSR, therefore disloyal, therefore off to Siberia.
However, both being as bad is probably the best way to settle it.
As a Pole from lower classes may be yes... But in broader view it's not seem so obvious. Jews, Latvian or Estonians or Ukrainians (they live in really schizophrenic relations) have completely different experiences about their national trauma during WW2.
