I'm doing some research on this dagger for a friend of mine and was very pleased to find such an interesting Web site. It looks like you guys sure know your stuff. I'm a rank amateur when comes to military paraphernalia and was hoping some one here could shed further light on this dagger. So far, from my research, I believe it might possibly be a 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger/No maker valued around $500 to $800 American. Anyone have a Yea or Nay.Thanks, Bluepete
There was a thread not so long ago about a dagger from WW2, so I imagine you'll get an answer shorty. I myself am not an expert on cutlery, so I wish you good luck on your queste
my suggestion would be to head on over to http://www.feldgrau.com/ those guys know damn near everything about WW2 German equipment, units, history ect.. and if they can't ID it for sure they will know were to go.
Can't tell from the pics if it's a original or not, but no markings are generally dubious.
You know we germans love order and we love to stamp and mark things ..
Well, my Father is a real expert in this area(And we have an Original Luftwaffe dagger too). I showed the Pictures to him and he says it looks real.
But its not complete because it lacks Portepee & Hangers.
A complete real Luftwaffe Dagger costs about 600€ here in Germany.
