It's a neat concept, but I like the look of advanced optical scopes better than holographic ones.

They talk about the same thing in the Top Sniper series. During the chopper shoot the instructors talk about how teams like the Swedish team have a better advantage because their spotter had a low power optic

Yeah it may not look cool but it better suites their given job

Yea I'd say the majority of Spotters on that show had "low power" optics, etc atleast compared to the Sniper.

I'm not a sniper or part of a STA platoon. But I do work with them in the field and share the same armory, and I have never seen them with that kind of optics (reflex/holo). They have the regular scopes you see in sniper rifles and the standard ACOG RCOs in their M4s and SAWs. Maybe is because our armory is broke as ****

Use of reflex sights with sniper rifles is normally only reserved for very task specific role, i.e. platform shooting normally on larger Cal rifles for counter veh use. Not a common role for a "Snipers" as such.

Reflex (Doctor) sights can be used inconjunction with the standard sniper rifle optic as an aide to aquire a targets general location and lay onto them. Semi auto (Sniping/DM) platorms sometimes all so have this set up.
