Is this a Bisley type competition?.... If yes why the Ghillie? I mean even the best of us will look like an unusual lump of foliage on a Fire point. The whole point of this dress up is what...they get a style and wary points plus a phone in vote to find the winner.

I like pics like these that demonstrate skill as opposed to some dude in a ghille standing in front of a tree. I hate seeing some so called "Snipers" ghilled up breaking all the principles of concealment and wearing impractical kit
Pics of skilled snipers hiding though would be rather pointless, just an empty field

lol yeah mate, You know what I mean.
Then again any pics would just be imitated by the Airsofters/Wannabes out there, and probley used to make yet another "How to be a SNIPER" clip on youtube.
We got asked to supply some pics of us in the field for Army PR purposes. They didnt think it funny when we sent them a random panoramic shot of our training area

HK417 did not pass German Army DMR tests
The German Army, like the rest of NATO is seems, is looking for a Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR). Once selected it will be given the designation G27. REMOV wrote on MP.net that the HK417 will not be the G27 as was rumored ...

The HK417 will not be the G27, because the German rifle did not passed the Bundeswehr field tests. The information was told during the Infantry Symposium in Unterluess by Infantry School representative lt. col. Detlef Rausch. The HK417 failed at the accuracy tests. So now, most probably will be the open contest for new DMR for Bundeswehr, which means SIG Sauer SAPR as well as Oberland Arms rifles plus... civilian model of the HK417 - MR308 will take a part.

Any information on why it didn't pass tests? They always seemed to be pretty reliable/effective from all the tests/propaganda HK spewed out about them.

If it isn't good enough for the Bundeswehr, who is it good enough for...
