Results of this fire test were marked "Confidential" (well not any more). I see that producers of Rosomak (Patria Hägglunds Oy and Wojskowe Zakłady Mechaniczne Siemianowice Śląskie) have really fucked this up.
    I'm really shocked

What is the source of this report, any links?

2007 - that was a year when some people claimed that Rosomaks are made from paper, can't swim, can't shot, can't drive or even don't exist.

There were some "tests" made especially to prove that Rosomak is a ****. For example GROM sniper shot between back doors and committee claimed that armor was penetrated. Military officers refused to accept these tests.
According to medias these "tests" were made to prove report of mr Macierewicz, who told that Rosomak was absolutely rubbish.

Antoni Macierewicz is part of our political folklore. Strange guy probably with some mental problems. Unfortunately he is close to Jaroslaw Kaczynski, but fortunately almost no one take him serious. For example he claimed that polish president was shot down by Russians using artificial fog, bomb planted inside presidential plane and special device to cheat plane's instruments (please don't comment that).

How have Rosomaks faired in Afghanistan against enemy fire and IEDs? Are the dogs just barking or is there really some truth to what the Polish MoD supposedly announced?

It is just a barking of some lunatics I suppose. In Afghanistan Rosomak proved many times that it is capable to efficently protect it's crew and dismounts.

AFAIK Rosomaks performed incredibly well. Many Rosomaks were hit but just 2 KIA (both gunners smashed by the vehicle, no one inside died). It even managed to withstand front hit from RPG (armor was not penetrated).

Yeah, I even seen photos from front hull armor tests. Armor was hit by RPG-7 granade (don't know what variant) at angle of something between 60 and 70 degrees and at angle of 90 degrees. None ended with armor perforation.

Actually it withstand side hit by RPG, and 2 or 3 frontals if i recall correctly. But i might be wrong.

Other thing is that they took fully equipped rosomak to the test, and in process equipment worth half a million pln was destroyed.

I guess any APC can get armor penetration if you start removing the armor plates and go for "lucky shots".

Since in Afghanistan the Rosomaks are well equipped, can some of you comment on this picture (from this thread)... specifically the caliber used for the tests.

    14,5x114 B32 rounds @ 200 meters. No penetration AFAIK.
