Croatian made guns. The name is HS2000 and in the USA they are named XD-9. They became very popular on the civilian market, the policeforces and the FBI use them also.

In Croatia they are standard sidearms in the army and police

Just spent last six months in Croatian Military and that's not really true. The number of Croatian soldiers actually fit in both physical and psychical way to go to peace keeping mission is very low and those mainly come from Guards brigades.
Most of my NCO's said peace keeping missions are for those young and crazy enough to do it. Even the pay is considered nothing special.

For a Military which goes through major restructuring every six months and is about to join NATO Croatian career soldiers have other things to think about - like how to keep a job, for instance.

And to stay on topic here's a down to earth picture from Croatian military (Air Force):

Yours truly doing the guard duty deep in Dalmatia (the black rectangle doesn't have to anything to do with OPSEC, I'm just shy) - I know it's not Afghanistan but it's still Croatian Military.

In Jutarnji List major Ivan Vucemilo said two mandatory peacekeeping missions await everyone who wants to be a professional soldier:

You're not lying. I didn't know any of these, my bad. He does speak about future though... I speak of the present. Current state of most of the career soldiers in our military does not allow them to go to peace keeping missions.

Let me tell you... future he speaks of is not so near.
