Hrvatska sada treba donijeti važnu stratešku i političku odluku.
Quoted ENG. Croatia now should make important strategic and political decision.
O yeah, that would be the day.
Croatian politicians have no capacity for strategical decisions.
Slight problem in this story is that Croatia has no immediate territorial thus also no airspace connection with other three, and it is not likely that in future Serbia will join NATO and fill that void.

Yes there is also Hungary that can do that, but they already have new fighter jets.
Seems most likely that nothing will come out of this, another episode in HRZ modernization soap opera.

Let's see what Bulgarians say about it (Google translate):

Defense Secretary Anyu Angelov does not preclude the government to abandon the purchase of a new type of multipurpose fighter, police Thursday.

At the end of the year will specify what will be the procedure and how it will happen. I've said repeatedly that unless we can make balance between the resources that will available in coming years, and the price that is offered us, of course, that is also the option to give up on ever buying a new type of multi-role fighter, said Minister in response to a question.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said at a meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Varna, the state is working with Romania, Croatia and Turkey that may resort to jointly buy aircraft.

According to Angelov it is not about total purchase of aircraft but to "set package" for the three countries - Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia, each retaining its right of national decisions to buy. We are particularly advanced in talks with Romania, while with Croatia are at the outset, the minister said.
The Minister pointed out that Bulgaria will buy its own fighters, as will do Romania and Croatia, but in a single package for a possible joint efforts in maintenance, repair, training of technical personnel and flight crew. Angelov added that the total purchase does not mean that airplanes were common ownership and each country retains ownership of the fighters who will buy.

Asked about the prices offered in the information provided by respondents manufacturers fighters Minister said he does not want to imply anything, but prices "on prima vista" are the kind of department are expected.
Lots of what if - in this story.

I'm not sayng itwill be the solution, but it is however something that would give some more hint and hope:

Most of all it would be useful to clarify that there is not any cession of suzerainity or state right in such type of deals :

There are such deals also between the greatest word air forces, like with Tornado and Typoons or the fact that Germany train ALL its fighter pilots in USA.

A con is obviously that in such a deal Croatia would be the last and the least one involved, so it would be forced to accept great part of of the decisions others have already made (as the fact that they are talking about F-16, hardly to be considered CroAF first choice).

My advice: keep talking on it but look also in others directions, using it as a life insurance device if nothing better is out there .

Red face Sometimes looking also outside web can be useful...

Excerpt from june jssue of RID (Rivista Italiana Difesa):

    AMV un blindato di successo

... regarding the decision about what type of turret to install on AIFV version toward th end of may it would have been submitted a tender for a remotely operated OWS model, tender in which also Oto Melara would partecipate with its HITFIST OWS armed with a ATK MK-44 Mod. 1 30/40mm automatic cannon.
On this regard on 17 and 18 of May a series of field test comprensive of real fire on the move with the model of turret that would be offered to the Croatian Army have been conducted in Nettuno firing ground

    Man your english sucks...
I would love to see your Air Force in f-16s, but regarding the economy overall and all the cutbacks your gov did, I really doubt it's gonna happen...Let's hope it does..
