here is a article about a budget http://www.defender.hr/republika-hrv...jardu-kuna.php

Almost all funds for modernization from 2012 will go on Patria and smaller part from 2013 and than in 2014 we can hope for other things because Patria cost should be over by than.
Only positive thing about 2012 budget is that funds for training will rise from 17mil to 56 mil Kuna.

Hvala tebi, citao sam i razumio sam bas'sve.
No good news however, they keep on spending on internationalmission and on nato partecipation instead than on the fundamental programs of national defence.

New RC aircraft: F-16 or Gripen

The last few weeks has become the current U.S. diplomatic offer of Dutch F-16 Block 15 which would be modernized. The price of such "modernized" aircraft would hover around 10 million apiece, that no spare parts, weapons, training, documentation, and other equipment

The Croatian state leadership decided that combat aviation remains an integral part of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defense, and the Croatian sky will not have to supervise the members of NATO, is a portal Defender.hr learned from sources close to the president's office. The same source said he will reject the idea of repair MIG considering that Croatia has long decided to protect its own airspace, and the Russian technique does not fit into its long-term strategic commitment.

"In fact, last year within the NATO alliance emerged the concept of" Smart Defense "which implies more interoperability, sharing of resources, logistics, etc. in order to reduce costs. If by any chance keep Croatia's MIG 21 difficult to make with any Who within the NATO alliance could share common resources, spare parts, etc., "said our source who added that a final decision is sure to bring this year, and considering all the above are the only other game in the aircraft and the F-16 fighter.

It is about 29 aircraft produced by the Dutch Air Force mid-80s, which are conserved and they were never carried out modernization.

Source portals Defender.hr noted and are discussed and offer the Swedish Saab Gripen aircraft for, especially for aircraft which is used by the Swedish Air Force, because the Swedes offer a specific offset program, much newer aircraft and the best long-term maintenance costs and use of aircraft, but believes that because of the difficult economic situation SAAB must make extra efforts when it comes to price conditions and terms of payment for the Republic of Croatia.

    And here's the original article:

    http://www.defender.hr/republika-hrv...-10mil-eur.php

This fits into other rumors I heared recently. Most significantly, a member of a croatian aviation forum, who is a senior officer of the Croatian Armed Forces, reported about a high-level meeting which took place last week. Our Chief of Staff, Air Force commander, numerous senior officers and even retired Air Force commanders, including Imra Agotić participated. The officer had a meeting with deputy chief of staff Barić right after the first meeting and Barić told him that all energy is being directed at getting new fighters. General Barić was apparently in very good mood following the meeting.

Let's hope that something will finally be done. The fact that none of this got to the media is also a good sign, and maybe there's a chance that one day soon we'll wake up to a headlines that Croatia signed a contract for fighters.

Frankly, i've lose the count of different speculated offers surfacing up in those times about the fighter deal, Dutch,Ukrainan, Indian, Rumenian.
Almost the german one about the F-4, altought absurd was officilally confirmed: now it seems there are only speculations without any official notice.
In every case, how they would be payed for? No new funding in the budget for them.

The Defense Ministry is considering the sale of 40-50 AMV Patria armored vehicles that are manufactured in Đuro Đakovic and thus earned funds would be directed to equip the Navy patrol boats, bringing Defender.hr portal.

Writing of this site was generally confirmed to Večernji list by MOD, but also emphasized that no decision has been made on the sale.

    - MOD is already aware that at the moment and the pace of production not all contracted vehicles are necessary. We welcome the efforts of Patria and Đuro Đaković for sale in third markets. Using vehicles from MOD's quota for such sale would, among other things, provide „easier breathing " in regard of budgetary costs - said high-ranking source in the ministry.

Ministry of Defense, if such agreement with a third country is achieved, would have at their disposal several hundred million kunas more than previously planned, which could be used in realization of their priorities. One of them, states Defense Ministry is the procurement of patrol boats for the Coast Guard.
