All soldiers have shoulder insignia in English as far as I can see. Only that old APC in picture have „Vojna policija“ (military police) sign in Croatian.

I presume it is because that old APC-s will be soon replaced (I hope so )

Yeah.. it's old (BOV), but also -yes- they will replace it with Patria AMVs (124), but that BOV is still very good! Especialy for football games to calm down the cookrs

You're wrong. If they are standard component of an army then their mission is in the first place protection of their country, in this case, Croatia.

That is correct. Our constitution allows for military intervention in the country for all units if the need for it arises.

Yes, but guys...Croatia is not at war today, so the special forces are not used inside Croatia today. They rather gather experince in warzones like Afghanistan.

There is no need for the BSD to jump in a hostage mission in Croatia, because there are plenty of experienced special police units for that. Of corse the army and the special forces (BSD) are ment to protect Croatia, but only in wartime. Today, when there is peace, they will only be active abroad.

Every croatian soldier has obligation to participate in several peacekeeping missions. It's not only reserved for BSD.

Who said BSD is in charge of hostage missions in 'civil world'?! Thats the job for ATJ Lucko. BSD is trained for special military operations(infiltrations, diversions etc...) that our guard brigades cannot pull off. Like I said, they are trained to protect their country, like every other military unit in the world. Peacekeeping missions are second on the list. Simple as that.
