    Default Aircraft ID

The discussion about the Chinese J-XX got me thinking about designs.

There is always speculation and cheese photoshop images that circulate when there is talk about a new aircraft type.

Funny how the images for that stupid Stealth movie began showing up as the next USN fighter.

Anyway, here is a good one.

Can anyone ID this plane/concept from the initial this early Drawing?

Are you trying to say this is an early drawing of an old well known fighter and we should guess or are you really asking?

I'd say it looks a bit like it could be an early drawing of a Mig 29. If it should be a "new" thing i'd say the chinese ripped of a Mig 29 design.

I'll say that it is a concept/submission drawing of a fighter in production today.

Hint the current plane turned out slightly different than the concept.

very early concept of the Eurofighter Typhoon?

    here's one from me:

hint: It's one of 8 pretest models that was not taken. Consider the decade it could be.

It's gotta be an early Sukhoi or Mikoyan-Guerivich design, but it doesnt stand out particularly as either. Ripped off could be the answer. The engine placement and spacing and leading edge extensions definately look like the Su-27 type (rounded concave) and not rounded convex like the MiG-29 although the size and shape of the front is like a MiG-29 as the Su-27 has a MASSIVE nose, long and slightly drooped.

This site claims that it is the North American Rockwell FX (F-15) Contender.

Who knows. Cold war - espionage... ok maybe a bit unlikely, but not impossible.
Many concepts or configurations in the 70ties look a bit like they copied each other.
