That's how he ended his career.
Next SS and police leader of the Warsaw district, SS-Oberführer Herbert Böttcher was a clever guy and he didn't want to come back home in this way,
so he stoped public executions on the streets of Warsaw.
That saved his life until 1950.06.12 when he was eventually hanged in Warsaw.

Any informations about czech 43rd airborne battalion? I saw them for the first time in Macedonia 2001 when first 120 paratroopers arrived to disarm albanian rebels. There is a text on czech MoD site but that is not enough...
43rd Airborne Batalion, 4th brigade of fast reaction (4. Brigáda rychlého nasazení - BRN)
Chrudim - Eastern Bohemia
Consists of 3 combat companies
1 company have 3 platoons. one platoon have 3 squads by 6 men.
Batalion continues in traditions of Czechoslovakian paratroopers in WWII. In the begining of 90' was oficial designation "71st Abn batalion" and you can still see on their badges "71 Výsadkový prapor CZ" (71 Airborn batalion CZ).
Batalion is one of the elite units of our army. It's equiped with one of the finest czech tactical gear, arms and other equipment
Today, part of batalion is in KFOR.

of which time are the pics? czech ISAF units have already LR Defenders only from this year March. And what about the civilian toyotas?
Defenders were deployed mainly in Iraq. In Afghanistan our army uses UAZs and toyotas (which are pretty bad). Land Rovers will be deployed with the second rotation of our troops together with special forces. Soldiers on photos are members of 102nd reconaissance battalion.
man, of cource with second rotation, the second rotation and special forces went to Afghanistan on the end of March and during April this year, how I said, LR is used only in Afghanistan now, check these pictures of new defenders way from Kabul and article abou rotationOriginally Posted by TheSun_CZ
