Some funky order of operations thing going on. I R not mathzchampion, but apparently multiplication and division are equal and so you simply go left to right, which results in the above.

However, and i'm digging deep here:

48/2(9+3)

To remove brackets, multiply 2 with what is between brackets, thus ending up with 2x9 and 2x3=18+6=24
48/24=2
