"Local Police" is the biggest waste of resources dictated by the EU. EVER. Don't know what they're like anywhere else but in ROU they're about as helpful as tap water in a volcano. They're not really armed, nobody takes them seriously and a bunch of them have been dispatched to help the traffic cops of the National Police.

But man, that sucks; makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about our system. Heck, at first, when it was being implemented if there was any sort of disturbance and cops were called they were more or less forced to issue a ticket for disturbance of the peace. It made for some entertaining rivalries between neighbours who hated each other.

By local police I meant the Central Police Station of the commune (in this case it's Federal Police-POLBRUMIDI). I'm not talking about the gunless ticket issueing policemen. For those who know Brussels, the place where the car was lifted is nearby the Parvis de St. Gilles, you stop your car for a while there in double row, it might get lifted illico presto.
